Toyota Kirloskar Motors on 09 January launched a facelifted version of one of their most popular SUVs in India.The fortuner,this will be the fourth generation model of the fortuner with everything on the outside redesigned.It will have all new headlamps,taillamps,bumpers,a new redesigned grill which will,from now on,not have the chrome slats that we used to get on the old car.Prices will be starting at Rs29.98 lakhs for the manual petrol fortuner which will have 2694cc all the way up to the most expensive model which will be called the Fortuner Legender.Legender will have 2755cc Diesel engine with a six speed gearbox with 201 bhp and 500NM of torque it will definitely be more powerful than the previous fortuner.The price?A whopping Rs37.58 lakhs!Which is Rs36.63 lakhs more than the previous top of the line fortuner.There would be no substantial changes on the inside except the new 8 inch touch screen which would definitely be better than the previous car.One of the most annoying thing which would,as most of you would know,will be the absence of a sunroof.Toyota would have to completely redesign the roof of the car to make way for a sunroof.The AC wents of the toyota fortuner are the same as in the toyota innova,wierdly placed,but,that cools the cabin cool substantially faster on a hot day than a standard AC can.The boot is small with all the seven seats back in place.With the 3rd row of seat down,the boot is an alright sized 296 litres large.Toyota have said that the fortuner would have an improved mileage of 13kmpl which is not that bad.The fortuner would do 0-100 kmph in 13.95 seconds.Offroad pack in the fortuner includes lockable rear differential,low range,the ability to change how the car drives and a 4×4 mode that can be turned on with just a flick of a switch.There has been talks recently that toyota would introduce a new generation of fortuner in 2022.Till then all the toyota fan boys out there,take care and see you in the next blog.
